Based in Keene, NH Ian Galipeau started to focus on his solo project in 2018, he's shared stages with regional acts including Arc Iris, Dietrich Strause, Belle-Skinner, and Ian Fitzgerald. One time at a show, an audience member walked up to Ian after an hour of original music and said "Do you know any Nirvana, or James Taylor? I feel like you would do them both justice," and that has been Ian's favorite compliment since then. He has long identified himself as "a songwriter for hopeful cynics," because the unifying thread between his songs is in the slyly-optimistic lyrical balance of hope and sadness, sincerity and sarcasm. He's struggled for years to answer genre-related questions, because his curiosity as a writer is constantly pulling him in a new direction. And for better or worse, his catalog reflects that.
2022's Like We Were Never Here At All drew influence from indie-rock radio, with nods to artists as varied as Hozier, OK Go, Spoon, and Young The Giant. In '23 and '24 he release a handful singles and EPs that were essentially solo acoustic performances - "The Little Things", "Soldier's Lullaby", and "Queen of Anything" have become his most-streamed recordings. In early 2025, he ditched his acoustic guitar to create Faded Pictures, a piano-driven album that owes inspiration to Randy Newman, Paul McCartney, and The Postal Service in equal measure. Just 6 months later in August '25, he's set to release Something About A Horse, which leans into the alt-country stylings of modern troubadours like Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson.
Ian has also co-written a handful of songs with Katie Toupin (of Houndmouth fame - "Static" and "Upside Down" made it onto her last album).
Morning Son is the solo project of Worcester MA based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and community organizer Peter L’Esperance. His songs are not only masterfully arranged and melodically rich, but also lyrically infused with a message of faith, spiritual-longing and system justice. Peter’s unique style is a fusion of folk, country, blues, as well as soul and jazz, often showcasing his skills on trumpet! He has steadily risen in the New England music scene in the past 4 years since his debut EP “Nature” and has played such legendary stages as Club Passim.
